Who is Makiziwe Steele?

Named after Nelson Mandela’s daughter and being the only person in Barbados with this name, the docile life of an unknown would not have done the name justice.

Content with going where angels fear to tread, you’ll often find me saying or writing something that would make most conservative and dishonest men fidget with their tie.

A professed logophile and aspiring grammarian, most of my time is spent in my professional capacity as a corporate communicator where I strategically design and successfully implement effective communications plans for businesses and noted personalities.

In my free time I’m either reading or watching reruns of Psych. I’m obsessed with crustacea, country music, Cabernet Sauvignon and Macadamia cookies. Some nights you can even find me down at Rosa’s Cantina moonlighting as a dancer.

“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.”
